Majorelle Garden, the Berber Museum and the YSL Museum in one morning

Cobalt-blue walls, cactus groves and one of the best introductions to Amazigh crafts, followed by the museum devoted to Yves Saint Laurent next door.
- Best timeEarly morning, year-round; spring is when the garden is greenest.
- How it worksGo independently: nothing to book through MoroccanPlans.
Why go
The Majorelle Garden, named after the painter Jacques Majorelle, is Marrakech’s most photographed garden: paths of bamboo, palms and cacti around a villa painted an intense blue. It is also home to the Pierre Bergé Museum of Berber Arts, whose collection of jewellery, textiles and objects is a strong first look at the Amazigh cultures of Morocco.
The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech, a short walk along the same street, is devoted to the designer’s work and his long relationship with the city. The garden’s official ticket office sells entry to the garden, to the Berber museum and to the YSL museum.
Together they make a calm, cultural morning that contrasts well with an afternoon in the medina.
What to expect
A popular, well-organised visit: tickets carry a QR code and are sold online on the official website only (tickets from other sites are not valid, the garden says). The garden is compact and can be busy; the museums are indoors and air-conditioned in summer.
Our advice
- Buy tickets on the official website before you go, and only there.
- The YSL museum closes on Wednesdays (official website, checked October 2026); plan the garden alone that day.
- Go at opening for the quietest paths and the softest light for photos.
- The official website states that the garden and museums are accessible to disabled visitors.
Advice from our editors, not official rules: check opening times and conditions locally.
