Beaches · Surf nearby · Sunshine
A modern Atlantic resort with a long sandy bay, year-round sunshine and the surf villages of the coast just to the north.
Agadir was rebuilt as a modern city after the earthquake of 1960, and today it is best known for its wide, sheltered bay and long promenade. Above the city, the ruins of the old kasbah offer views over the port and the beach.
The coast north of Agadir, around Taghazout, is one of Morocco’s best-known surf areas, and the Souss valley inland is the land of argan trees. Agadir’s airport and hotels make it an easy base for travellers combining a beach stay with events in the south.
